A JOURNEY INTO TASTE AMONG EXCELLENCE AND YOUNG TALENTS FROM 21 TO 23 JULY 2025

The final weekend of the ‘La Strada del Radicchio Incontra’ festival opens with taste and local pride, an event that celebrates the Veneto region's excellent agri-food products through ‘La Casa degli IGP Veneti’ (The House of Veneto PGI Products). On Friday 21st July, in the presence of local authorities and the presidents of the protection consortia, this showcase of flavour will be inaugurated, created to bring together the region's IGP products with the creativity of chefs and the curiosity of the public.

The final weekend of the ‘La Strada del Radicchio Incontra’ festival opens with taste and local pride, an event that celebrates the Veneto region's excellent agri-food products through ‘La Casa degli IGP Veneti’ (The House of Veneto PGI Products).
On Friday 21st July, in the presence of local authorities and the presidents of the protection consortia, this showcase of flavour will be inaugurated, created to bring together the region's IGP products with the creativity of chefs and the curiosity of the public.

The opening night will be made even more enjoyable by the participation of the seven provinces of Veneto, each represented by a team of chefs selected in collaboration with the Veneto Chefs' Union. Each team will present an original first course, designed to highlight a PGI product from the region paired with typical specialities from their own territory. The aim? To offer the public an authentic gastronomic journey through the provinces of Veneto, from Venice to Verona, from Padua to Belluno.

The public will have free access to the tasting area and will be able to sample the dishes on offer, while a technical jury of experts in the field will evaluate the culinary creations, drawing up a final ranking to reward the best dishes in different categories.

The weekend will conclude on Sunday 23rd July with the 16th “Premio San Martino” Challenge Gastronomic Competition, an event designed for young talents from hotel management schools. The competition will take place in the marquee of the Radicchio Festival, which will be transformed into a real professional kitchen for the occasion.

Students from various schools in the Veneto region will be asked to create an original recipe in which they must use Radicchio Rosso di Treviso PGI and at least one other product selected from those on display at the “La Strada del Radicchio Incontra” exhibition. This is a concrete way to promote local excellence and stimulate the creativity of the younger generation.

The Casa degli IGP Veneti is not just an event, but a sensory experience that showcases the best of Veneto's agricultural and culinary traditions. With established chefs, promising young talents and excellent products, taste takes centre stage and becomes a tool for promoting the region.

The initiative is promoted by Coordinamento delle Strade del Vino e dei Sapori del Veneto, in collaboration with the Treviso Red Radicchio and Castelfranco Variegated Radicchio Association.
