A region to experience

  • Cities of art: Verona, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its Arena, Renaissance squares, and romantic atmospheres.

  • Villages and nature: Soave, Lazise, San Giorgio di Valpolicella, and the Lessini Mountains offer authentic experiences combining culture and nature.

  • Flavors and traditions: Fine wines, rice, olive oil, and DOP cheeses make Verona's food and wine one of the richest in Northern Italy.

The Wine and Flavor Routes of the Province of Verona

The province of Verona is crisscrossed by six important "wine and flavor routes," tourist itineraries that connect wineries, producers, and restaurants in an immersive experience of flavor and territory.

Valpolicella Wine Route
The red heart of the Verona area, Valpolicella is synonymous with Amarone, Recioto, and Ripasso. The route winds through vineyards, Romanesque churches, and Venetian villas, offering tasting experiences and guided tours.
Recommended stops: Negrar, Fumane, Marano di Valpolicella, Sant’Ambrogio, San Pietro in Cariano.

Soave Wine Route
Among the eastern hills, the Soave Wine Route celebrates Soave DOC and DOCG, an elegant and mineral white wine made from Garganega grapes. The fortified village of Soave and the surrounding valleys (Tramigna, Mezzane, Alpone, Illasi) combine wine, history, and landscape.
Recommended stops: Soave, Monteforte d’Alpone, Cazzano di Tramigna, Roncà.

Arcole Wine Route

Less well-known but of great value, the Arcole DOC Wine Route crosses the plain between Verona and Arcole, a land of balanced and modern wines, produced from international (Merlot, Cabernet, Chardonnay) and local grape varieties.
This area, historically linked to viticulture and the Risorgimento (the Battle of Arcole in 1796), offers welcoming wineries and a genuine agricultural tradition.
Recommended stops: Arcole, Cologna Veneta, Albaredo d’Adige, Zimella, Veronella.

Lessini Durello Wine Route
On the slopes of the Lessini Mountains, between Verona and Vicenza, Durella is grown, an ancient native grape that produces Lessini Durello DOC, a fresh and minerally sparkling wine, now highly regarded internationally.
The route combines nature and flavor, with spectacular views, mountain pastures, and karst caves.
Recommended stops: Montecchia di Crosara, Vestenanova, Roncà, San Giovanni Ilarione.

Vialone Nano Veronese PGI Rice Route
A unique itinerary in the Veneto region: the plain south of Verona, between Isola della Scala and Nogara, is the birthplace of Vialone Nano Veronese PGI rice, the star of creamy risottos and traditional recipes.
Every autumn, the Isola della Scala Rice Fair celebrates this product with tastings and traditional dishes.
Recommended stops: Isola della Scala, Nogara, Bovolone, Erbè, Buttapietra.

Garda Wine and Flavors Route
Along the Verona shore of Lake Garda, the grapes for Bardolino DOC and Chiaretto are grown, fresh and fragrant wines that pair well with Garda DOP extra virgin olive oil. It's the perfect itinerary for slow tourism, between the lake and the moraine hills.
Recommended stops: Bardolino, Lazise, Cavaion Veronese, Affi, Peschiera del Garda.
